In Station Eleven, it is belived that art will survive. Even in the most dire situations, creativity lives on. One strong example of this, beyond the theater the Traveling Symphony creates, is the costumes they wear when they perform. Created from found objects and scraps, the costumers make complex and thoughful costumes for each character. The costumes for the show were designed by Helen Huang, who said, “You think about our pandemic, what did we do during the pandemic? People didn’t shrivel up and die when they were at home. There were a lot of crafts. People were baking sourdough. Out of not being able to go out, people reverted back to making things. How amazing is that?”
